Sander has been producing Brindle puppies for us since his 2nd litter. After doing a ton of research including talking to 2 different dachshund genetics experts we have come to the fact that Sander has "Hidden Brindle". The genetic rule for dachshunds is that you have to show brindle in order to produce brindle. In this case he is the exception to the rule. He does not show brindle but he produces brindle. This is a relatively new discovery that occurred when Sander was passed the E-Gene to him by both of his parents and had the brindle gene passed to him by his mother. The ee Gene makes it impossible for him to have any black hairs on his body. It also makes it impossible to show the brindle pattern since brindle on a cream is black.
